If you read my previous post, I mentioned that I'll be making a hat of some sort with my alpaca wool.
They are the bestest kind - I absolutely love it and enjoy crocheting with it!
So soft, cozy and warm...I know I must stock up on those!
They are from Patons (Inca) - alpaca wool, which is actually a nice blend of wool, acrylic and alpaca wool.
I have adapted the pattern from this amazing youtube tutorial to suit my yarn. It comes out cute and fits me snuggly.
Here are the photos. Thanks sweet Mitch for taking them for me. I always wanted to take pics outdoor, but didn't really have anyone to help me with it back in Singapore.

Here is the pattern for this cute beret. It is in American terms.
Yarn Gauge: 10 cm x 10 cm = 18 rows x 13 stitches using recommended needle 7.00mm
Crochet Needles: 6.50mm, 5.50mm (for last round only)
Note: When you crochet, make sure you don't pull the yarn too tight. Crochet it loosely.
Start with slip knot, ch 3
Round 1:
11 dc in the 3rd ch from the hook, ss into the 1st dc to complete the round.
Round 2:
ch 3 (count as 1 dc) , 1 dc in the same stitch ch 1
*2 dc, ch 1* repeat 10 times
ss into the 3rd ch to complete the round.
Round 3:
ch 3 (count as 1 dc), 2 dc, ch 2, skip the ch-1 space
*1 dc, 2 dc, ch 2, skip the ch-1 space* repeat 10 times
ss into the 3rd ch to complete the round.
Round 4:
ch 3 (count as 1 dc), 1 dc, 2 dc, ch 2, skip the ch-2 space
*1 dc, 1 dc, 2 dc, ch 2, skip the ch-2 space* repeat 10 times
ss into the 3rd ch to complete the round.
Round 5:
ch 3 (count as 1 dc), 1 dc, 1 dc, 2 dc, ch 2, skip the ch-2 space
*1 dc, 1 dc, 1 dc, 2 dc, ch 2, skip the ch-2 space* repeat 10 times
ss into the 3rd ch to complete the round.
Round 6 and 7:
ch 3 (count as 1 dc), 1 dc in each of the next 4 stitches, ch 2, skip the ch-2 space
*1 dc in each stitches (total of 5 dc), ch 2, skip the ch-2 space* repeat 10 times
ss into the 3rd ch to complete the round.
Round 8:
ch 2 (count as 1 sc), 1 sc in each of the next 4 stithces, 1 sc in each in 2 ch
*1 sc in each of the next 5 stitches, 1 sc in each in 2 ch* repeat 10 times
ss into the 2nd ch to complete the round.
Round 9:
ch 2 (count as 1 sc)
*skip 1 sc, sc in the next stitch* repeat till round is completed
ss in the 2nd ch to complete the round.
Round 10 and 11:
ch 2 (count as 1 sc)
1 sc in each stitch till round is completed
ss in the 2nd ch to complete the round.
Round 12 (using 5.50mm crochet needle):
Repeat the previous round.
Bind off and weave the end in.

I edited some rounds from the original version to fit nicely.
