Crochet Doily Red Clutch Bag

The other day, I was just thinking of projects for Valentine's Day.
I know I know...It's still like a little over a month away and it's probably still early to think about it. But after Christmas, that's the next big day that I get excited over.
And I thought I could make a cute little clutch bag that I could use on a date.

So, I went through my Crochet Pin Board as usual to find a nice clutch pattern.
And I found this oh-so-lovely Floral Pouch Pattern by Pierrot Yarns.
I must warn you that the pattern is only in diagrams. There are some helpful written notes, but yep, you have to know how to read the diagrams pretty well...It was kind of painful trying to decipher it, especially the Motif pattern, but I think it was all worth it in the end.
If you need help reading the pattern diagrams, just leave a comment and I'll try and help you.(:

Of course, I used red and white since I was thinking of V'day.
I had to use double strand of white yarn, since the yarn wasn't thick enough.

Both the doily and bag are done. I love this doily pattern so much. I think it would be perfect for coasters too.

Then, I sewn the doily to the back of my bag. I wasn't sure if it would turn out neat. I did my best to align it properly and pinned it in place with sewing pins before sewing.

I think it turned out pretty neat, don't you think? :D That's the back of my clutch.

And another shot of the back with the flap opens.
And finally, it's all finished :D
I hope you like it. :D
Happy crocheting. (:

My Bright Yellow Crochet Cowl

Hey everyone!
How was your Christmas? Mine was great (:.
My family don't celebrate Christmas, but Mitch's family obviously does and I had a great time.
We have so much left-over food and I'm still having them today...

I was planning to share this cowl with you for awhile.
I used the pattern from MyPicot Club. You can find the pattern HERE.
It is such a beautiful lace pattern! I LOVE IT.
The pattern is not for crocheting in rounds, but I changed it up a bit and managed to crochet this cowl in rounds instead.

I don't know if I'd look weird to wear it to my college classes back in hot and humid Singapore, but I'm loving the look over my blouses. I might just be bold and wear it. :D

And that's me and my photographer. It's always great to have him taking photos for me although he insisted that I wear my glasses...

This is my first crochet cowl and I'm loving it! Hope you like it too. (:
I'm on my second one right now and it is in royal blue. And I'm using daisy crochet stitch.
I'll share it with you soon enough! ((:

The yarn I used for this project is 100% acrylic and Mitch got it for me cos they were on offer and it was only $2 for 100 grams! It's pretty cheap yarn, but it isn't itchy or anything. It is really warm and sooo soft.
I did a bit of googling and you can purchase the yarn I used on this website, Alacraft.
Yarn used for my project
That's all from me for today.
If you've ever made a cowl and posted a pic or blog post about it, feel free to share it under the comment section. Thank you. (:

Hugs.

Yarn Bombing in Adelaide

Couple of weeks ago, I was in Adelaide with my fiance. We were on a bus and I saw yarn bombing on a statue. Actually, Mitch saw it first and he pointed it out. I was so excited!

And a few days later, we went back again to the venue, which is Hilton Victoria Square and took plenty of pics! It is my first time seeing a yarn bombing in person and it was so cool! There were plenty more trees covered with crocheted/knitted items, but I think we were already looking pretty weird for taking so many photos, so yep, I decided not to take pics of every yarn-bombed tree.

Hope you're having a great weekends! (:
I finished making a cowl and already taken photos, so I'll be back really soon to share with you.

Colourful Aster Bookmarks

I made these little bookmarks in several colours.
The pattern is an Aster pattern from 100 Flowers to Knit and Crochet.
The pattern is pretty easy to follow and they crochet up so fast! Changing colours isn't too hard too and I can easily tug in the loose ends while crocheting too, which makes them extra fun to crochet!
I think they look like they have been pressed between book pages and that's why I think they make such great bookmarks.
I gave the pink one to my niece; she loves it. (:
Can you tell I had so much fun taking the photos too? (:
I hope you like it! (:

Just on the side note..I'll be flying to Adelaide tonight and so, I will put my Etsy Shop on vacation mode till 14th of January. When I come back, I'll list those aster bookmarks too. (:
I'll be active on my blog thou. I have to close the shop while I'm there because postage from Australia is wayyyy too expensive.

I hope you're having a great weekends! (:

Out and About in CraftLand

Hello.
Every Friday, I do a special post on my blog called "Out and About in CraftLand".
It is to sum up all the lovely things I came across over the week from hours of browsing Pinterest/blogs.
I hope you like it!

----------------------------------------------------------------------
I lovee this beautiful cowl, "iris". The pattern is available for purchase on MarianneS's shop on Etsy for $4.50. Since winter won't be here till June in Adelaide, I have plenty of time to make this lovely one and you can bet I'll be buying this lovely pattern. I've been itching to make a cowl; I just love how you can wrap over your head.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Aren't these ornaments the cutest?! They're made of cute buttons and you can find out how to make your own on Beneath the Rowan Tree.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm so so in love with this card by Debbie from Lime Doddle. She makes beautiful handmade cards and this has to be my favourite one. (: I just love those little houses and how she coloured them with a touch of "snow" on them.

Feeling the Christmas Rush

I've been so busy lately.
My last exam paper is 2 days away and I've been so busy trying to stuff all the information into my head..
And I've got more than usual orders on my Etsy shop too since Christmas is coming up.
I've been enjoying making rose bookmarks and I am aiming to get one done everyday, no matter how crazy life gets.
While I was busy doing packaging and all that for my shop items, I remembered to take photos to share too! Here they are (:
