Deep Red Chevron Sling Bag - Ta Daah~!

Hey everyone!
Hope your weekend has been going good.

Mine have been pretty productive! I finished this sling purse and I took some decent photos to post on my Etsy shop today. You can check out the Etsy listing HERE.
I made this using Moda Vera Blossom in Red. I must say it is such a great yarn!
It is soft and it is a decently thick yarn, which makes it pretty quick to crochet up this bag.

My sister has been making sling bags for awhile (you can see one of hers HERE).
Which remind me, she made 2 more of that bag in pink and she has been asking me to take photos of them for like a week now...I'll share with you when I finally get around to it.
Anyway, seeing her make those pretty bags make me want to give it a go and it turns out quite well.
I'm so happy with it! (:

Here are the photos for you.

I've already started on my another bag.
Here is the sneak peak!

Have a great day! (:

Capri Scarf in the Making

Hey everyone!
Just a few updates on my crochet projects.
1) The "Graceful Shell Shawl" that I blogged about in THIS POST is done~! Before taking photos of it, I want to block it first and I will probably do it this weekend.
2) I still haven't finished my niece's sling bag (You can read about it and get the link to the pattern HERE)
3) And, just to procrastinate the sling bag project further...I started making a new scarf.

I found the lovely pattern on Red Heart website. It is called Capri Scarf.
I modified the pattern so that the width is smaller. I'm using Moda Vera Alder (Colour No.2) and it is a much bigger yarn than what the pattern calls for. So, for my first try, the width of the scarf turns out way too big. So, I reduced the base chain to 22 from 29. And it makes it a lot quicker to crochet up!

About that Moda Vera Alder yarn that I'm using..It is so soft and almost luxurious! I'm in love...
The yarn is 100% viscose derived from bamboo. I love bamboo yarns. (:
And to top it all off, I only paid $1 for each ball of yarn! It was on clearance at Spotlight and I bought 4 of them. I was so excited! Now that I think of it, I should have bought like 20 of them, don't you think? :D

Anyway, here are the photos of my Capri Scarf in the making. (:

Hope you have a great day! (:

Sunday Updates

Hey everyone!

How's your weekend been treating you so far?
I get to do a lot of exercises on weekends - lots of biking and walking.
Had a fun time walking for like an hour yesterday to Mitch's work to spend time with him on his break. And then, biked back home in the rain. I'm glad I didn't catch cold! I was so sure I would fall sick, but go figure, I survived that just fine.
I'm not complaining cos of all the walking and biking, since I get to do it all on a beach road!
Here is a snapshot of it!

Can you spot a little boat there? I so want to be on it, even on this windy day.

And the highlight of today has to be.....

TOM-YUM SOUP!
Sweet Mitch took me out for dinner at a nice Chinese restaurant and they serve tom-yum soup too.
I've been craving for it for awhile. Not the authentic one, I must say, but I'm not complaining.
Warm and spicy soup do me just fine on this kind of cold day. (:

Back to my crocheting corner...

My Stash!
Someone gave me these 2 yarn balls awhile back and I'm thinking of using them to make a beanie.
Hoping 2 balls would be enough. They're pretty thick - 7.00mm hook recommended. They're alpaca wool, don't know if it is any different from the normal kind..any idea? I think they were bought years ago and probably discontinued by now. It is a beautiful combination of colors and absolutely soft and warm - can't wait to crochet it!
I will keep you updated on the progress, stay tuned!

Oh no, it's Monday tomorrow! Doesn't concern me much cos I'm on school holiday *evil grins*
I'm just kidding.. Hoping your week starts off nicely.
See ya next time.

Hugs
